CASTLE HAYNE — Edward Leroy West, affectionately known as Pug, passed away peacefully at his home in Castle Hayne, North Carolina on December 9, 2023. He was born on November 26, 1939, in Conway, South Carolina.
Pug was a devoted husband to Cynthia (Wilson) West for nearly 45 years. Their love was a testament to the power of commitment and companionship. Together, they raised three beautiful daughters who meant the world to him. Tiffany West, Leigh Fulcher, and Angela West were the center of his universe, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Pug had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and found solace in clamming and fishing. Whether it was the thrill of the catch or the tranquility of nature, he found joy in every moment spent in the great outdoors. His love for animals was evident in his gentle and caring nature towards them.
Music was Pug’s true passion in life. He was a talented musician who poured his heart and soul into his craft. His music was a reflection of his vibrant spirit and brought joy to all who had the pleasure of listening. Pug’s dedication to his art was unwavering, and he found solace and fulfillment in the melodies he created.
Pug is survived by his loving wife, Cindy West, his sister Linda Faye Robinson, and his three adoring daughters, Tiffany West, Leigh Fulcher, and Angela West. He also leaves behind five cherished grandchildren, McKenzie Jones, Caleb Hyatt, Braydon & Jacob Hyatt, and Mikayla West. Their love and memories will forever keep his spirit alive.
A celebration of Pug’s life will be held at a later date, allowing family and friends to come together and honor his memory.
