WILMINGTON — Virginia Lueddeke Robinson, 98 of Wilmington, NC, formally of Cinnaminson, NJ, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2023 in Wilmington, NC.
Virginia was born June 27, 1925, in Orange Memorial Hospital in Orange, NJ. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Gustave Frederick Lueddeke and Otillie Reich Lueddeke, brother Gustave Frederick Lueddeke Jr. and her Aunt Amelia Reich. She is preceded also by both her husbands, Paul Witham Neeld and Charles Leigh Robinson.
Virginia was raised in Maplewood, NJ but spent many wonderful times at the Jersey Shore with her parents and loving brother in Manasquan, Ocean Grove and finally Avon-by-the-Sea where her parents bought a home.
After high school, she went on to junior college before attending and graduating from Syracuse University in Syracuse, NY with a degree in business.
During the WWII, Virginia volunteered at the local hospitals assisting in any way she could. After the war she obtained a position as a secretary.
On December 11, 1949 she became engaged to Paul Witham Neeld, Jr. and they married the following year on June 3 rd . She and Paul live for a time in Pennsylvania before making their home in Cinnaminson, NJ. Virginia was very involved in her church and often substituted at the high school later on much to the chagrin of her children. Paul passed in 1972.
Virginia met her second husband; Charles Leigh Robinson and they married on February 7 th 1975. “Leigh” passed in 2011 and Virginia moved permanently to Wilmington, NC. She lived in Plantation Village where she enjoyed a wonderful social life with many friends.
When her health began to decline in 2022, she moved to the Davis Community where she remained.
Virginia was extremely social and there was never a person that she met whose name she forgot or whose life history she did not find out which her family and friends found extremely amusing. She had a passion for bingo, cards and board games. She found great joy in helping people and was involved in many charities but her greatest love would always be her family.
She is survived by her children, Barbara Neeld Parker of Wilmington NC and Paul Scott Neeld of Fort Pierce, Florida. She leaves behind her grandchildren; Jason Pace (Lisa) of Davidson NC, Kimberly Parker (Clay Moizo) of Phoenix, Arizona, Crystal Pace (Doug Warf) of Raleigh NC, Curt Neeld (Courtney) of Texas and Eric Neeld of New Jersey, as well as her great-grandchildren; Clayton and Spencer Moizo of Arizona, Harper Warf of Raleigh, Bennet and Rowyn Neeld of Texas and Austin and Ellie Neeld of NJ, in addition to numerous nieces and nephews and their children.
No funeral or memorial services are currently planned. At Virginia’s request, her ashes will be joined with her late husband, Leigh’s remains in NJ. Her family will have a celebration of life to honor her at a later date.
