WILMINGTON — Elizabeth Joy Phifer, age 85, of Wilmington, NC passed away on October 10, 2023 at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare in Wilmington, NC.
She was born on September 12, 1938 in Mooresville, NC to the late Carl Alexander Lowrance and Mildred Lorene Alexander Lowrance.
Elizabeth lived in Pine Bluff, NC before moving to Wilmington, NC in 2016. She was a member of Bethesda Presbyterian Church in Aberdeen, NC. Elizabeth was a loving and caring wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. She was a bright light to many and will be dearly missed.
Elizabeth is survived by her son, Darren Phifer (Lee Anna); daughter, Rita P. Beckwith (David); sister, Sylvia Motsinger; sister-in-law, Judy Ernull; grandchildren, David Beckwith (Katherine), Marlo Phifer, and Autumn Phifer; great granddaughter, Scarlett Beckwith; and nephews, Ray Motsinger and Earl Motsinger.
In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Winfred Phifer; and brother, Terry Lowrance.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at 1 p.m. at Pinelawn Memorial Park, 1105 Morganton Rd, Southern Pines, NC 28387.
