LELAND — Thomas Anthony Speranza 05/23/35-09/26/23. Eighty-eight years of age. Proud veteran of the United States Army, devoted husband, and doting father, passed away peacefully at home on September 26, 2023.
The son of Connie Salino and Anthony Speranza. Thomas was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and later resided in Valley Stream, N.Y., later retired to Leland N.C. Thomas was a proud graduate of Polytechnic Institute of Technology and graduated with a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering in which he had a profound career until his retirement in 2001.
Devoted husband to Diane and unconditionally dedicated father to Valerie Elizabeth. Thomas had a love of life, the outdoors and nature, and a passion for classical music, animals and science. As well as the adoration of teaching. In retirement he served as a substitute teacher in the Valley Stream Schools.
His dedication and devotion to his family was and will always be undying. We celebrate his life in our time of sadness. A wonderful husband and father he will be forever missed, and his memory fondly remembered. May God bless you and keep you at peace for eternity.
