Theodore ‘Ted’ Eugene Lashley, 73

WILMINGTON — Theodore “Ted” Eugene Lashley, 73 of Wilmington, passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones on September 15, 2023.

Ted was born in Goldsboro, NC, on February 10, 1950 to Eugene Malloy Lashley and Hazel Fields Lashley. He graduated from Goldsboro High School in 1968 and was a proud Army Veteran, serving as a medic in the Vietnam War. Ted worked as the director of the parks and recreation department for the Town of Carolina Beach, from which he happily retired.

He was preceded in death by his wife Theresa Lashley, brothers Don Lashley and William Lashley, and his parents Eugene Lashley and Hazel Lashley. He is survived by his brother Brian Lashley, his daughters Elizabeth Lashley and Samantha Lashley, stepson Dustin Templeton, and his cousins and best friends, Gail Askins and Cleve McMillan.

Ted was a talented musician, often getting together to play guitar with his cousins and brothers, and filled his home with music. He was a loving father and husband, and had a kind and genuine soul. His spirit lives on in the lives he’s touched and the people that knew him.

A celebration of life will be held for him in his home with family and friends.
