WILMINGTON — Benjamin Starinsky went with the Angels on March 10, 2023. He was at home in Atkinson, NC when the Angels came calling. He had been under the wonderful care of the Lower Cape Fear Hospice and of his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Mary Mayo Starinsky in 2017. He was born on April 16,1929 to the late George and Elizabeth (Baloonis) in Schuykill

Ben retired from the Coast Guard at the rank of Senior Chief E8 after 20 years of service. He served on the Mendota in Wilmington and often spoke of Entering the bottom of the world by crossing the Antarctic Circle aboard USCGC Burton Island.
