WILMINGTON — Luther Stanley Edwards, 67, of Wilmington, NC passed away unexpectedly of natural causes at his home on Monday, February 6, 2023.
He was born on May 12, 1955, in Lumberton, NC, the son of the late Luther J. Edwards and Rosa Britt Edwards. Also preceding him in death were his wife Deborah (Debbie) Insco Edwards.
Stanley was a graduate of New Hanover High School, Cape Fear Community College, Appalachian State University, and did post graduate studies at East Carolina University. He retired from UNCW in 2015 after more than 30 years working as a computer analyst and held the position as Director of Systems and Procedures.
His enthusiasm was in tinkering and coming up with ideas to foster his creativity and passions. He was a trusted friend to all, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family and his beloved son Christopher. He was a warm and caring person and will be greatly missed. Although he has left this earth, Stanly will always hold a special place in the hearts of everyone that knew him.
He is survived by his son Christopher Edwards; sister, Vicki Edwards Elmore; nieces Ashley Elmore and Lauren Elmore, all of Wilmington, NC; sister, Carolyn Edwards Percival (Bob); nieces Kristin Kerns, Katy Percival, and Tawni Percival, all of Williamsburg, VA; brother, William (Bill) Edwards (Carol) of Raleigh, NC; nephews Will Edwards of Bladen County and Graham Edwards (Erica) of Charleston, SC; and his adored grand dog, Roy.
Stanley was truly an entrepreneur at heart.
