WILMINGTON — Anita Russ Kolb, 82, of Wilmington, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Center.
She was born August 14, 1940, in Wilmington, NC, to the late Delmus C. Russ, Sr. and Eugenia Hill Russ.
Anita was a registered nurse and retired from Natal Care at New Hanover Regional Medical Center and Cape Fear Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the United Advent Christian Church. Anita loved horses and collected painted ponies. She enjoyed the beach, mountains, movies and reading. She also loved her cats.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Lauri Anne Dodson; son, Jeffrey William Kolb and her brother, Delmus “Sonny” C. Russ, Jr. and his wife Kiyoko.
Survivors include her son, Gerald “Bud” Kolb, Jr. and his wife Guillianne of Wilmington; grandchildren, Scott Robertson, Alyssa Robertson, Christopher Kolb, Michael Kolb, Kaitlyn Dodson, Sydney Kolb and Will Kolb and their mother, Christy Kolb; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Alanea, Emalee and Ashlynn; sister, Donna Biggers, Todd Dodson and wife Lisa; nephews, Skip Russ and wife Debbie and family and Justin Biggers and wife Ruwani and family and niece, Misa Welch and husband Dave and family.
