WILMINGTON — Thomas Edward Chilcote, age 77, of Wilmington, NC passed away on January 10, 2023 at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare in Wilmington, NC.
He was born on April 16, 1945 in La Porte, IN to the late Robert Kingsly Chilcote and Lottie Marshburn.
Thomas served in the Army National Guard and was also member of the American Legion Post 10. He was a Babe Ruth Baseball League Coach for 28 years. Thomas enjoyed walking his dog, Aria, around Greenfield Lake. He was a lifelong learner who was an avid lover of history and reading books on history. Thomas loved his Country and cheering on his favorite team, the Atlanta Braves. After surviving a heart attack, he was in rehab where he became friends with some of the other patients. Their group would meet up weekly at 5 p.m., calling themselves the 5 O’ Clots.
Thomas is survived by his wife, Barbara Chilcote; daughters, Teresa Chilcote (Justin) and Wendy Chilcote; brothers, Robert Chilcote (Becky) and Edgar Chilcote; sister, Christine Farr; and his beloved dog, Aria.
Charitable contributions in memory of Thomas may be made to either New Hanover Humane Society or Lower Cape Fear LifeCare.
