LELAND — Donald (Don) Eugene Phipps, 68, of Leland, NC, passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at the Lower Cape Fear Life Care.
Don is predeceased by his father, Ray Maynard, sister, Tonya Bretz and brother, Earle Phipps.
Don is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 52 years, Dale Phipps of Leland, NC. His daughter, Angie Barker and son-in-law, David Barker; his two grandsons, Chris Barker (Savanna) and Timothy Barker (Savannah); and three great-grandchildren, Chloe Crisco, Christopher Barker and Ryan Barker all of Leland, NC. His mother, Agnes Maynard of Hubert, NC, brothers, Ron Phipps (Emily) of Faison, NC, Glenn Maynard of Leland, NC and sister, Betty Whitmore (Dana) of Hubert, NC.
Don was a hard worker, skilled carpenter and loved spending his free time fishing. He had a passion for reading and always had a book nearby. He instilled his love for reading in his daughter and grandsons.
