WILMINGTON — Dolores Woodard Bouvier, of Wilmington, NC, passed away on September 11, 2022, completing her journey of 94 years. Dolores was born in Kenosha Wisconsin to Louis and Edna Woodard (Strope) on January 19, 1928.
She was a devout Catholic and attended St. Marks church in Wilmington while living in this area. Preceding her in life were her first husband Walter Keller, with whom she had two children (Keith Michael and Kathleen Mary) and James Bouvier, her second husband whom she met through their church in Chicago.
She also leaves her nephew Gary Keller of Wisconsin. She leaves behind her son and daughter, along with daughter-in-law Betsy as well as James, son George Bouvier and his wife Julie and their two children Nicholle and Dominic of Idaho. She also leaves grandchildren Joe, Dan and Sean Blackford, Michael Keller and Valerie Keller. There are also great grandchildren, Lucia, Ben, Matilda, Jacob and Shannon, all Blackfords. Dolores left hundreds of friends behind (she never met a stranger) and was active in her TOPS group, exercise classes and all her many neighbors. She had a full life and lived in many places including Rosario and Buenos Aires in Argentina; Chicago, Illinois; Kenosha, Racine and Milwaukee Wisconsin; and Raleigh and Wilmington North Carolina.
A time of visitation will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with a memorial service to be held at 11:00 a.m. at St. Marks Catholic Church, in Wilmington, NC.
