SNEADS FERRY — Brenda Brooks Foster, 71, of Sneads Ferry, passed away Friday, June 3, 2022. A native of Chatham, VA, she was born on Sunday, September 24, 1950, to the late Irona Brooks and Annie Bradley. She was the widow of Norman Foster, Sr.
She worked in the food industry and retail sales; most would know her from her days at a local restaurant or Handy Mart. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, she was especially good at making biscuits, and gardening vegetables and flowers. She was recognized in the local newspaper for her gardening.
She is survived by her loving children, Richard Hammond (Christy), Annie “Vicky” Collins, Brenda Kuzan (Joe) and Norman Foster, Jr. all of Sneads Ferry; brother, Chesley Brooks (Karen) of Stem; grandchildren, Chasity Collins, Johnny Collins, Carolyn Foster, and Joseph Kuzan; great-grandchildren, Leonidas and Caleesi Franklin.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ronald Brooks and grandson, Anthony Dunn.
A memorial service will be held at a later date and announced by the family.
To know Brenda is to know how much she loved her family, she was the type to never meet a stranger and if you wanted to know anything about the town, she knew everything!
