WILMINGTON — Patsy Sumner Wilson, 75, of Wilmington, NC passed away on May 16, 2022, surrounded by her family in the comfort of her home. Born August 28, 1946, in Beulaville, NC. Patsy was the oldest of two daughters. When growing up, she moved throughout the U.S. and overseas with her family, her dad was in the military. Upon his retirement, they settled in Wilmington, NC where Patsy graduated from New Hanover High School in 1965.
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, Ledford and Sue (Oatsie) Sumner, and her husband, Robert Wilson of 44 years. Together they had three children, Ledford Wilson and wife Lorie of Chesapeake, VA, Beth Wilson of Sanford, FL and Kim Wilson Peace and husband Parker of Wilmington, NC. Patsy was also loved by Jeff Hogan and Diane Hogan both of Carolina Beach, NC. In addition to her children, she leaves behind her sister, Sue Kellner of Leland, NC, nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Pallbearers will include her grandsons, Matt Carr, Davis Wilson, Cole Wilson, and Chandler McLaughlin along with Parker Peace and Jeff Hogan.
Patsy loved all of her family and she will be deeply missed. While it may sadden many by her passing, the family takes solace in knowing that she is remembering all the good times again.
The family will receive visitors from 12-1 pm on Friday, May 20, 2022 with the funeral service immediately following at 1 pm at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel in Wilmington, NC. There will be a short graveside ceremony following at Greenlawn Memorial Park. All other times, the family will receive visitors at the residence of Kim and Parker Peace.
