WILMINGTON — Robert (Bob) Alan Berg, of Wilmington, North Carolina, passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2022, at the age of 64.
Bob was born on September 5, 1957, the youngest son of Shirl & Jacqueline (McFarlane) Berg in Wilmington, NC. He was a skilled auto mechanic for over 30 years, working in the Berg family auto repair business, and later as owner/operator.
Mr. Berg was preceded in death by his parents Shirl Berg and Jacqueline Berg (McFarlane), his daughter Katalin Parker, and his brother-in-law Michael Gore.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Christy Johnson Berg, 6 daughters Becky (Richard) Stout, Krysten (Wally) Ponder, Stephanie (Britton) Butterfield, Kara (Oy) Siharat, Kylie (Colby) Willetts, (Katalin) Oscar Martinez, and McKenzie Berg, 15 grandchildren Jocelynn, Kaiden, Brenna, Sawyer (Stout), Skylur, Lucius (Bishop), Jack, Miles, Luke, Ruby (Butterfield), Femi, Chloe, Emma (Siharat), Sadie (Willetts), and Benjamin (Martinez), and his siblings Linda (Michael) Gore, Roy (Janice) Berg, and Steve (Dorothy) Berg.
A Memorial (Viewing) will be held on Wednesday April 20, 2022, from 2 to 4 PM and the Funeral Service will be held Thursday April 21, 2022, at 3:00 PM. Both will be held at Andrews Mortuary Chapel at 1617 Market St., Wilmington, NC 28401.
