Ian Vincent Jones, 34

WILMINGTON — It is with devastating sorrow that on April 4, 2022, our beloved Ian Vincent Jones, of Wilmington. NC took his last breath…

He fought a brave battle and we are holding onto the solace of knowing he is completely healed. They say, “Grief is the last act of love we have to give those we loved. Where there is deep grief, there was great love.”

Ian was born on June 19, 1987 in Fayetteville, North Carolina. He was the son of the late Deborah Marie Russ. He is survived by “ his hero” his father Robert Jim Jones, his Grand mother Helga Jones,  his “love of his life” fiance Hannah Smith, his sisters Erika Rivera and Star Jones, as well as his 6 nephews and niece who he loved immensely (not to forget his 3 fur nephews and niece – he had a huge heart for dogs). One of his favorite titles in life was being an uncle.

He had an Associates Degree from Cape Fear Community College and worked at various restaurants in Wilmington as a chef.

To know Ian, was to know love, feel love, and to also know great laughter. He was an avid UNC and Panthers fan – never missing a game. He loved soccer and always pulled for Bayern Muenchen or Germany’s national team. He enjoyed playing guitar and was extremely family oriented. His personality was bigger than life and he never met a stranger.

Ian will live on for eternity in our hearts and soul… he will be greatly missed by all that loved and  knew him. Like an old soldier…he will never die …just fade away. Rock on Voodoo Child…may peace be with you in the afterlife, Fly on Little Wing.
