WILMINGTON — James Anthony “Tony” Lowe, a 44 year resident of Wilmington, NC passed away unexpectedly after a short stay in the hospital on Thursday November 25, 2021, at the age of 69.
He was born on May 27, 1952, in Danville, Virginia to the late Dorothy Scearce Lowe and the late James Luther Lowe.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his partner John R. Twisdale of the residence; and sister, Lisa Lowe Aherron of Ringgold.
He was a retired interior design consultant.
He is survived by his brother, Monte L. Lowe of Pilot Mountain, NC; sisters, Scarlett Lowe and Tammy L. Lowe; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews, cousins, and an aunt, Naydeen Hayden, all of Virginia.
Tony went to Appalachian State University and Old Dominion University where he obtained a master’s degree in Psychology and graduated from Dan River High School Class of 1971 in Ringgold, VA.
Tony made an impact on so many people’s lives in his community and he will be remembered and loved by many of his friends in Wilmington NC and Ringgold, VA.
A graveside burial service will take place on Friday December 3, 2021, at 3:00 pm at the Oakdale Cemetery, 520 North 15th Street, Wilmington, NC 28401. Pastor Rudy Shepard will be officiating.
