
WILMINGTON — Philip J. Winn was called home on Wednesday, November 24th at New Hanover Hospital in Wilmington, NC. PJ was born March 8, 1954 to Jeanette and Delbert Winn in Platteville, Wisconsin. PJ was raised on their family farm near Belmont, Wisconsin with his brothers David and Alan and sisters Nancy and Christine. He was a 1972 graduate of Belmont High School. PJ began his career attending Brown Institute in Minneapolis and became a radio DJ. Throughout his life, he focused on computer programming and sales for multiple companies.
He is survived by his beloved wife, JoAnn; daughters Amy Winn and Christine (Lance) Bebout and granddaughter Cassidy Winn; brother, David Winn; sister, Nancy (Dennis) Alt and sister-in-law Janan Winn. He was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Jeanette Winn, sister Christine Winn, brother Alan Winn and sister-in-law Janet Winn. In 2013 he joined The Knights of Columbus at The Resurrection Church in Florida and, with great pride, was elected Grand Knight at The Basilica of St. Mary’s Church in Wilmington, NC until his death. He was also a member of The Patriot’s Guard Riders. He had a unique sense of humor, love of music, motorcycles, constellations, and his family. The family would like to give a special thanks to the ICU doctors and nurses at Hanover Hospital.
Family, friends, and others whose lives PJ touched are invited to The Basilica of St. Mary’s Church, 412 Ann St., Wilmington, at 1PM on Monday, November 29, 2021 for a viewing and 2pm for Mass to pay your respects. Services will also be held in Belmont, WI at a later time.
