Gail Virginia (Kirchner) O’Donnell, 80

WILMINGTON — Gail Virginia (Kirchner) O’Donnell, age 80, passed from this life on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, from lung cancer.  She is survived by her loving husband Ralph O’Donnell; her four children Elizabeth Roller (Keith Roller), Sean O’Donnell (Anita Goins O’Donnell), Karen Rowe (John Rowe), Jennifer Green (Kenneth Green); her six grandchildren James Roller, Katherine Deasey (Andrew Deasey), Gabriella Roller, Alexander O’Donnell, Michael Rowe and Daniel Rowe; along with her only surviving sibling, Diane (Kirchner) Budd.

Gail was a 27 year resident of Wilmington, NC.  She worked for the local Chamber of Commerce before retiring.  She was a member of Porter’s Neck Country Club.  She was also a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church, where she was a Eucharistic Minister until she joined the parish of St. Therese at Wrightsville Beach. 

Gail earned an education degree from St. Elizabeth’s College in Madison, NJ, in 1963, and married her high school sweetheart that same year. 

She loved to entertain, teach, and console.  She was an avid tennis player and golfer.  She enjoyed bridge club, book clubs, theater and the arts.  She was a devoted member of the Cameron Art Museum community, where she volunteered as a docent with the 5th grade art tour program. 

The family will hold a private Mass Service at St. Therese Catholic Church.
