WILMINGTON — Louise Stewart Berry, age 96, passed away Saturday, November 6, 2021 in Wilmington, NC.
Louise was born in Nashville, Tennessee on March 25, 1925; daughter of the late Paul and Zelma Vaughn Stewart.
As a child of the Depression, Louise was raised to value honesty and hard work. As the wife of a construction worker, she often spoke of moving seventeen times in nineteen years. She retired as a Contract Specialist from the Defense General Supply Center in Richmond, Virginia. Louise (Granny) was most proud of her role as a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and celebrated every accomplishment of her family.
Surviving to cherish their memories are her daughter Cheryl Berry Cribbs (Jerry), son John Paul Berry, son-in-law Pat Kenney, grandchildren Shelley Kenney (Janel), Adam Cribbs (Melissa), Neil Cribbs (Ashley), Jason Berry (Jennifer), Alena Hash (John) and great-grandchildren Pierson and Peyton Kenney, Madison and Lochlan Cribbs, and Alethea and Desmond Hash. She was the widow of James Donald Berry (J.D.) who preceded her in death on November 24, 2004. In addition to her aforementioned parents, Louise was also preceded in death by brother William McDonald Stewart, daughter Donna Berry Kenney, and infant grandson Brian Stephen Cribbs.
The family would like to thank the staff of Breakers at the Davis Health Care Center for the kind and compassionate care Louise received.
A graveside service will be held at a future date in Richmond, Virginia.
