Robert (Bob) Pontius, 67

WILMINGTON — On Thursday, October 14, 2021, Robert (Bob) Pontious, entered heaven at the age of 67 after a miracle-infused 12 year battle with cancer. His life was dedicated to glorifying his Lord, Jesus Christ. As he walked through the valley of death, his faith testimony drew others to Christ.

Together, Bob and Renae raised two children, Sean and Michelle with grandsons Roman and Logan. Bob was the absolute definition of a doting husband, dad, and grand-dad.

Bob was passionate about his family, American Literature, Ohio State Football and movies. He spent his life in service to others in volunteering, working for and teaching the disabled, poor, and marginalized. He was a deacon and Bible teacher at Freedom Baptist Church. Bob was known for his intelligence, compassion, loving nature, and pithy sayings. He was a great storyteller who also told awful jokes.
