WILMINGTON — Frances Combetto Johnson, age 67, of Wilmington passed away Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare.
She was born in Collinsville, Illinois on July 13, 1954, and moved to Wilmington, North Carolina at a young age where she developed her love for the coastal lifestyle.
She loved hanging out with her family and friends, whether it was going out on the boat, to the beach, to the pool or just simply laying out in a beach chair in the back yard. Also, she loved her puzzles, decorating for Christmas, watching old westerns with her husband, and eating all the crab legs and oysters she could get her hands on. She loved her family, friends, and her two dogs (her other babies) with all of her heart. It didn’t matter what she was doing, she was happy as long as it was with the people she loved. Anytime she saw anyone, she would say, “Hey honey, how are you doing?” She was selfless and was an angel even before going to heaven.
Fran was survived by her husband Johnny Johnson, son Curtis Reeves and wife Stacey Reeves, son Johnnie Johnson and wife Allie Johnson, six grandchildren Jessica Mundus, Tye Reeves; Kaitlyn, Christian, Ashlyn and Alex Johnson, three great-grandchildren Paisley Wallace; Levio and River Mundus, mother Judy Cheney, two sisters Carol Harrelson and Jamie Simmons, one brother Tex Cheney and all of her best friends and those who called her “Momma Fran.”
A Celebration of Life will be held at 12pm on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at the clubhouse in Dolphin Bay; 917 Tarpon Dr, Wilmington NC 28409.
