WILMINGTON — William Morgan “Bill or Will” Ingram, Jr. departed his life on October 2, 2021, while surrounded by his family at NHRMC. He was born on November 24, 1944, in Wilmington, NC to the late William Morgan “Scottie” Ingram and Mattie Frances Pettigrew Ingram.
Bill worked for over 27 years with Kmart rising to the position of assistant manager. He also worked for Corning for 5 years and at the Star News for 15 years.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and participating with the children’s activities. Bill was a baseball coach for the Supper Optimists Baseball League and assisted at the Supper Optimists fields for numerous years. He was also active with the Boy and Girl Scouts.
Through his life Bill would be known by many names, Grandpa, Peepaw, Pa-ee, Pop-i, but most lovely “Honey”, by his wife. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brother, David E. Ingram and a nephew, Scott D. Ingram. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Katherine “Kaye” Robinson Ingram; children, Amy Ingram Lewis and her husband, Charles, Jeffrey Robinson Ingram and his wife, Sharon, William Michael Ingram and his wife, Sara, and Melissa Ingram Dunican and her husband, Peter; ten grandchildren, Jeremy McNeill and his wife, Ahjia, Madison, Morgan, Benjamin, Jayden, Vincent and Cody Ingram, William Lewis, as well as Liam and Eliza Dunican; two great grandchildren, Kambria and Jhonen McNeill; a niece, April I. Russell and her husband, Jeremy as well as numerous cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 8, 2021, at 1 pm at Oleander Memorial Gardens, Wilmington, NC.
