WILMINGTON — Peggy Sue Lara, age 82, formally of Gastonia NC passed away Tuesday August 31st, 2021 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice Center.
Peggy was a avid piano player for over 40 years. Augustine Lara(late Husband) and herself worked together in starting the first Hispanic Baptist Church in Wilmington NC.
Peggy has four children, the late Karen Gardner, Teresa Spake, Deborah Godbey and James Spake( Wife Mildred Spake). She also has many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held at Primera Iglesias Bautista at 12pm on Saturday September 4th followed by the funeral at 1pm. The graveside service will be held at Oakdale Cemetery at 2pm.
