LELAND — Anita “Darlene” Parker, 58, (September 17, 1962) of Leland, NC went to be with Jesus on Wednesday July 28, 2021 after a long battle with metastatic breast cancer in which she fought with grace and grit. Darlene grew up in Wilmington, NC and graduated from John T. Hoggard High School in 1981. She earned her associates degree in accounting from Cape Fear Community College. Darlene lived life to the fullest in Myrtle Beach, SC, Wilmington, Charlotte, and Leland NC.
Darlene was known as a sweet, caring, fun, generous, & vivacious woman to all who loved her. She was the best gift-giver, party planner, decorator, and cheerleader. She never missed a chance to celebrate her loved ones! Darlene was a dedicated and loving mom to her fur babies, Moose and Sugar, sister, aunt, and friend to “the girls.” Enjoying the beach with her family and friends was Darlene’s favorite place to be.
Darlene is preceded in death by her parents, William “Bill” Parker Sr. and Ruby Parker. She is survived by her brother, William “Billy” Parker Jr. (Kendall) of Charlotte, NC, nephew William “Will” Parker III (Leah) of Charlotte, NC, niece Karen Isabell (Andy) of Lewisburg, WV, and great-nephew and nieces, Kayden, Sydney, and Anna Hayes.
