WILMINGTON — Betty Lou Stutzenburg, 78, died Sunday, July 25, 2021. She was born Jan. 28, 1943, to George Vance Smith and Geneva Lewis Smith.

Betty loved her family very much. She enjoyed going to the beach, fishing and gardening.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Catherine Guyton.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Roy Stutzenburg of the home; daughter, Victoria Bergemann, and her husband, David, of Wilmington; two grandchildren, Amy Wilson, and her husband, Andy, of Wilmington and Christina Bergemann of Durham; two great-grandchildren, Mason Wilson and Jackson Wilson; three sisters, Frances Ipock of Leland, Carolyn Cummins of Rocky Point and Shirley Willetts Garris, and her husband, David.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, July 30, at Coble Funeral & Cremation Service Chapel, 1155 Shipyard Blvd. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Oleander Memorial Gardens.
