Barbara Wescott Kopp, 80, accomplished RN who appreciated the journey

Barbara Wescott Kopp

WILMINGTON — Barbara Wescott Kopp, 80, peacefully died at home Wednesday, July 21, 2021, surrounded by her loved ones.

She is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, William A. “Bill” Kopp; children, Robert “Paul” Stanley Jr. and Melissa Stanley Patterson (Chip); stepchildren, Charlotte Kopp and Daniel Kopp; 10 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; and sister, Gayle Wescott Dadoly of New Hampshire.

In Barbara’s own words, written to her children a few years ago, “I will relent to say that as I look back over my life, I realize that I have accomplished quite a bit. None of it will be remembered in history books, but they were all small successes for me. I finally became a nurse (RN-UNCW Nursing School) and I helped start a successful business (Fast Frame). I got to travel quite a bit and see a lot of things most people will never see. I have been loved by two good men who treated me well and made me happy. Did I make a difference in the grand scheme of things-probably not in the overall picture, but I hope so in the small insulated picture.”

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cure PSP.
