Richard Mardean Myers Sr.

CALABASH — Richard Mardean Myers Sr., 63, passed away Monday, May 24, 2021, at Grand Strand Hospital, South Carolina.

Richard had a love for all sports, from playing shortstop in baseball, to quarterback in football. He was a member of the Waldorf AMF Adult Bowling League and loved to play golf. He was just as passionate about coaching and mentoring as he was for playing sports, coaching not only his son in hockey, but also many of his son’s peers. He had a love for cars that started as a teen, from driving classic Camaros, to owning Chevy Corvettes. He took pride in everything he did, serving as an engineer for Amtrak for over 28 years and could teach you how to fix just about anything.

Richard was preceded in death by his father, Richard E. Myers.

He is survived by his mother, Gerald Dean Myers; wife, Linda Myers; son, Richard Myers Jr.; grandson, Devin Myers; daughter, Sandra Myers; sister, Claudette Jancheck; and brother, Doug Myers.

The love for his family is unconditional. He will be forever missed.

A private memorial is pending for a later date.
