WINNABOW — William Clarence Norris III, 78, died Monday, May 10, 2021. He was born Dec. 22, 1942, in Lumberton to the late William Norris Jr. and Mary Tart Norris.
William was a Vietnam-era veteran and proudly served in the U.S. Navy. After many years of service, he retired from DuPont and then worked part time with O’Brien Service Company. He was a longtime member of The Church of God.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Cameron Norris; and sisters, Daisy Johnson and Juanita Ledbetter.
Survivors include his daughter, Deborah Mason, and husband, Roy, of Winnabow; son, William C. Norris IV, and wife, Donna, of Winnabow; grandchildren, Tiffany and husband Mitchell, Michael, and wife, Felicia, Sierra and Kayla; great-grandchildren, Johnathan, Kasey, Brooklyn and Emma; brother, Jerry Norris; and sister, Marie Williams.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, May 14, at The Church of God. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to services. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
