Brenda Sue Lambert

WILMINGTON — Brenda Sue Lambert, 63, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 24, 2021. Brenda was born Jan. 25, 1958, in Wilson to Cedric and Claudette Holloman. Brenda grew up in Falls Church, Virginia, and attended George C. Marshall High School until her senior year, when she relocated and graduated from Fauquier High School in 1976.

While living in Pimmit Hills in Falls Church, she began her friendship with Robert Lambert at 14. They became high school sweet hearts and later married in August 1986. Robert and Brenda went on to raise their family for 30 years in Chantilly, Virginia.

Brenda was a strong, independent woman that worked hard caring for her family. As her boys grew older, she also worked as an office manager for 17 years at a commercial fire protection company. In retirement, she moved to Wilmington to pursue her love of the sun and beach.

Brenda always lived life to the fullest and challenged those around her to do the same. Brenda was passionate about supporting her sons and their sports, staying active, fit and out in the sun. She loved working in the garden, Jazzercize with the girls, long walks with her dog, searching for seashells in the sand and walking the loop at Wrightsville Beach. When she was not supporting her boys in their activities, you could find her and Robert on their motorcycles visiting wineries in Virginia and North Carolina with friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Ricky Holloman.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Robert Lambert of Wilmington; sons, Shawn Turner, and his fiancé, Lydia Elder, and Scott Lambert, and his wife, Jennifer Lambert; grandchildren, Kylie Jarmon, Lucas Lambert and Dylan Lambert; father, Cedric (Janie) Holloman; mother, Claudette Holloman; brothers, George (Bonnie) Holloman and Stevie (Sandy) Holloman; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Dates for the celebration of life, funeral service and burial are forthcoming and will take place at King David National Memorial Gardens, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, Virginia. A webcast of the funeral service will be available for those unable to attend.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes charitable donations made in Brenda’s memory to the Duke Dementia Family Support Program.
