Myrna M. ‘Mae’ Joseph

WILMINGTON — Myrna M. “Mae” Joseph, 86, died Thursday, April 1, 2021, at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Center. A resident of Wilmington for 21 years, she was born Feb. 17, 1935, in Dimmitt, Texas.

Myrna retired from Sprint in California after many years of service and relocated to Wilmington to be close to her son and grandchildren. She loved to knit and made the most beautiful afghans for her family. Myrna enjoyed gardening on her patio and was very active for many years in the WOTM at the Wilmington Moose Lodge. Myrna loved her little dog Daisy and was active with Carolina Canines for Veterans and other animal organizations. She loved taking Daisy for walks in the park.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Floyd and Susie Clingingsmith; and sisters, Dorothy VanBuskirk and Doris Jones.

She is survived by her son, Donald W.Joseph, and his wife, Rhonda Joseph; grandchildren, Nathan Joseph, Iris Joseph and Trey Rogers; six great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews, Floyd Van Buskirk, Mike Jones, Susan Stovall and Paula Ondricek.

Due to COVID-19, a celebration of life will hopefully be held this summer.

In lieu of flowers memorial gifts maybe donated to the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Hospice, Wilmington.
