WILMINGTON — Elaine Parker Corbett, 54, passed away on her birthday, Sunday, March 28, 2021, at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Center.
Elaine was born March 28, 1967, in Durham, a daughter of the late Dennis Wilton Parker and Barbara McDonald Parker.
Elaine had a love for the Lord, and she lived her faith in her everyday life. She worked with disadvantaged and battered women and supported the First Fruit Ministries here in Wilmington.
She worked tirelessly with couples assisting in the coordination of their marriage ceremonies and directing the activities of ministers working with couples to strengthen their marriages. Her life’s passion was assisting couples to build their marriage relationship together through the power of the couples’ own personal relationship with God so they reach and extend the potential of their marriage experience.
She is survived by her loving husband of 12 years, Pastor Skip Corbett; stepson, Hank Corbett and Emily Albert of Chapel Hill; sister, Rebecca Ann Parker and Tony Tracy of Wilmington; niece, of whom she was especially proud, Haven Mackenzie Parker of Boone; sister-in-law, Susan Ezekiel, and her husband, Jim, of Gibsonville; nieces, Kimberly Ezekiel and Kailey Ezekiel; nephew, Jimmy Ezekiel; and many other extended family members.
A funeral service will be held at noon, Thursday, April 1, at Wrightsville Beach Baptist Church with the Rev. John McIntyre and the Rev. Don Brown officiating. Prior to the service, the family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the service hour. Interment will be held in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Greensboro, at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Elaine’s memory may be made to Lower Cape Fear LifeCare, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401; or First Fruit Ministries of Wilmington, 2750 Vance St., Wilmington, NC 28412.
