Antoinette Marie Brechka, 81, embraced cooking and baking during retirement

WILMINGTON — Antoinette Marie Brechka, 81, died Friday, March 19, 2021. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Brechka for 48 years. She was born Feb. 2, 1940, in New Jersey to the late James and Catherine Staffa.

Antoinette was a bookkeeper and very proud of continuing to work until her retirement five years ago. She always had a love for crafts, but during her retirement, her craft of choice became cooking and baking for her family.

She is survived by her children, Deb Stauss, Joe Brechka and Catherine Helgesen, and her husband, Thomas; grandchildren, Kevin Stauss, and his wife, Haley, and Tyler Brechka; great-grandchild, Felix Stauss; siblings, Jim Staffa, and his wife, Bunny, Cathy Durando and Susan Newman, and her husband, Allen. She will be greatly missed by special cousins, nieces, nephews, lifelong friends, and especially, her rescue dog, Miley.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, all services will be private.
