SCOTTS HILL — Robert Graham “Bobby” Merritt II, 79, passed away Friday, Feb. 19, 2021, to join his parents, Annabell Rice and Robert G. Merritt; wife, Linda Barefoot Merritt; and sister, Janet Turner, in the arms of the Lord.

Bobby was born Nov. 17, 1941, in Wilmington. Bobby was a graduate of New Hanover High School, Class of 1959, after which, he joined the U.S. Army. He was stationed in Germany until he returned home and began his long career with Southern Bell until retirement. His life was full of his passions in hunting, drag racing, tournament fishing, boat racing and engine building…enjoyed with his brother, Mike, while listening to “golden oldies.”
