LELAND — Aarron Manley Batts, 16, passed away Sunday, Feb. 21, 2021.

He was born June 13, 2004, in Wilmington to William “Billy” and Christina (Abby) Batts-Nelson.

Aarron is survived by his three sisters, Alexis, Naomi, Taylor; and his niece, Brielle. His surviving grandparents are Don and Lori Nelson and Buddy and Phyllis Simmons. Aarron will be deeply missed by his loving family, which includes many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Aarron enjoyed playing football with the Brunswick County Parks and Recreation. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved spending time with his dad in the woods hunting and on the water fishing. If you saw one, you would always see the other.

He had a very loving relationship with his mother, and most people would say that he was a “mama’s boy.” When it came to his siblings, they would say that he had a mischievous side. He loved laughing and joking around with all of them. Then, it was off to his room for some serious gaming. To his close friends, he was known as one of the best gamers in their gaming group.

A family visitation will be held from noon to 1 p.m., Friday, Feb. 26, at First Baptist Church, Leland. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. Burial will be held in First Baptist Church Cemetery.
