WILMINGTON — Anne Hyer, 80, passed away Friday, Feb. 12, 2021, at her home.
She was born June 28, 1940, in Queens, New York, the daughter of Calogero Bosco and Rosalie Puma Bosco.
Anne is survived by her husband, Edward, with whom she recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary, after having retired to North Carolina in 1996. In addition to her husband, Anne leaves behind her children, Karen (David) Summerfield of Wilmington and Michael (Chanel) Hyer of Long Island, New York; as well as grandchildren, Spencer Summerfield and Alexander, Samantha, Xavier and Bryce Hyer.
Anne was funny, a fabulous cook and hostess, and a wonderful friend. She volunteered her time at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Basilica Shrine of St. Mary Catholic Church. She treasured her family and close friends and will always be remembered by them.
A funeral Mass will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 18, at St. Mark Catholic Church, 1013 Eastwood Road, Wilmington.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations, in memory of Anne made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, would be greatly appreciated.
