WILMINGTON — Howard Lee Brammer, 67, peacefully passed away Sunday, Jan. 24, 2021, at home.

He was born March 21, 1953, to John and Louise Brammer, along with his twin brother, Harold. After graduating high school, Howard attended East Carolina University, where he met his wife, Roxanne.

After graduating from ECU, he taught at several schools, including Emsley A. Laney High School and John T. Hoggard High School in Wilmington before retiring. He was also a caring husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.

He is survived by his wife, Roxanne Brammer; three children, Nicole Brammer, Scott Brammer (Mary Susan) and Kristen Brammer Hoover (Thomas Jr.); four grandchildren, Andrew Brammer, Airlie Brammer, David Brammer and Thomas Hoover III; three brothers, Melvin Brammer, Harold Brammer and Keith Brammer; and many nieces and nephews.

A private viewing for family members will be held at noon, Friday, Jan. 29. Following the viewing, all are welcome to attend the burial at 1 p.m. in Sea Lawn Memorial Park, 17750 U.S.-17, Hampstead.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
