WILMINGTON — Barbara Ann Mintz Lanier, 77, born Feb. 16, 1943, went home to be with her heavenly Father Friday, Jan. 15, 2021.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Florence Mintz; son, Sammy Lanier Jr.; granddaughter, Heather Smith; sister, Daisy Lawhorne; brother, Tommy Ray Mintz; and loving companion, Jerry Hassell.
She leaves behind a large and loving family, her daughters, Sylvia Lester (Sheila Miles, daughter-in-law) and Wanda Doyle; son, Mark Lanier; sisters, Ruby Stubbs, Rochelle Piner, Brenda Piner and Josephine Grainger; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.
Barbara was a true treasure to all who knew her, and she loved her family very much. She will be dearly missed.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Jan. 22, at Seagate Baptist Church.
