WILMINGTON — Bruce Allen Kubeck, 79, died Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020, at Lower Cape Fear Life Care. He was born May 14, 1941, in Queens, Astoria, New York, to the late Frank and Viola (Maskiell) Kubeck.
He moved to Huntington Long Island at Knollwood Beach at the age of 10, where he became a boating enthusiast who always enjoyed the water. It was a tight-knit community with many great memories. Bruce was blessed with many talents. Besides boating, he enjoyed gardening and learned the art of real estate at an early age, which he perfected throughout his life.
He was a 1963 graduate of Lowell Technological University in Lowell Massachusetts, graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering. He started his career with General Electric, working with the missile defense program at Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. He finished his career as senior project manager with the nuclear fuel division in Wilmington. He retired from General Electric in 1988.
His natural entrepreneurial spirit in real estate and various other business ventures, along with gardening, were his true passions, which he perfected over the years and kept him active.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, and mother of his three sons, Joyce Louise (Jensen) Kubeck; and second wife, Jacqueling Janine (Joens) Kubeck.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Deidra (Gramagila) Kubeck. The two of them had 10 fulfilling and loving years. They enjoyed traveling and real estate, but most of all, good times with friends and family. He is also survived by his three sons, Don (Michelle) Kubeck and Bob Kubeck, both of Wilmington, and Ken (Shari) Kubeck of Lake Wylie, South Carolina; sister, Carol (Hank) Rajotte of Pennsylvania; niece, Deborah, and nephews, Matthew (Heather) Rajotte and Michael Rajotte of Pennsylvania; stepdaughter, Emily Pridgen; and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Bruce was a man with a huge heart, fierce love of family and a generous spirit. His legacy will keep generations connected. Bruce will be deeply missed as another angel gained his wings.
Services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021, in Oleander Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Wilmington.
