Emma Caddell Green Curry Jones, 96, attended Wilmington First Pentecostal Holiness Church for 69 years

WILMINGTON — Emma Caddell Green Curry Jones, 96, passed away Saturday, Dec. 12, 2020. Emma was born on Nov. 29, 1924, at Old Hundred in Scotland County to Colon Calvin Caddell and Nettie Garner Caddell.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Benny McKoy Green Jr.; son, Jimmy Calvin Green; second husband, Gilbert Curry; third husband, C.B. Jones; brother, John William Caddell; and sisters, Julia Naylor, Pauline Knowles, Lillie Mae Baker, Bessie Weiss, Geraldine Willis and Carolyn Evans.

Emma attended Wilmington First Pentecostal Holiness Church for 69 years. She was employed with Swift & Co.; Graver’s Shirt Factory; and raised 20,000 chickens every nine weeks for Ramsey Feed Co. until her retirement.

Emma is survived by her son, Jerry Green, and his wife, Teresa, of Castle Hayne; four granddaughters, Sherry Green Sternberger (Kenneth) of Bolivia, Lisa Michelle Green Kohnberg (Stewart) of Raleigh, Summer Green Sneed (Kevin), Eldoret, Kenya and Kristin (Krissy) Green Witt (Brandon) of Castle Hayne; four great-grandsons, Jordan Smith, Alexander Francis, Nathaniel Sneed and Ryker Lee Witt; great-granddaughter, Abigail Sneed; and one sister, Lenora Baker of Castle Hayne.

Because of COVID-19 restrictions, a private family graveside service was held in Oleander Memorial Gardens.
