
WILMINGTON — Susan Isabelle Hall Barber, 63, peacefully passed away Thursday, Dec. 3, 2020, with her husband and daughter by her side.
Susan was born Dec. 15, 1956, in Clinton to James Clyde and Hermine “Sissy” Hall. She went to school and played basketball at Harrells Christian Academy. She graduated from ECU with a degree in early childhood education.
She married Richard Barber Feb. 11 1984, at Siloam Baptist Church in Harrells. Susan retired from Children’s Developmental Services Agency after working for the state for more than 20 years. Susan was involved in the Master Gardner program at the Arboretum, and she loved all things ocean!
Her loving father, James Clyde Hall, preceded Susan in death.
Susan is survived by her husband, Richard Barber; daughter, Amie Lombardi, and her husband, Brian; grandson, Tyler; mother, Hermine “Sissy” Hall; brother, James Perry Hall; sister, Wanda Hall; and so many extended family members and friends that will miss her dearly.
There will be a celebration of life for Susan at 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 12, outside at Siloam Baptist Church, 833 Tomahawk Hwy, Harrells. Please plan to follow current COVID-19 protocols.
