
WILMINGTON — James Edward “Eddie” Maultsby, 82, passed away Sunday, Nov. 27, 2020. He was born June 9, 1938, to the late Alfonzo and Ava Maultsby.
He was a graduate of New Hanover High School, served in the U.S. Army and retired from Queensboro Steel in Wilmington. During his retirement, he found the most pleasure spending time with his children and grandchildren and building birdhouses.
He is survived by daughters, Lacrecia Weber, and her husband, Tim, of Fuquay-Varina and Barbara Shelley, and her husband, Barry, of Cary; grandchildren, Wesley Shelley, and his wife, Ellen, of Marion, Jeremy Shelley and Chelsea of Hull, Massachusetts, and Alexandra Weber of Fuquay-Varina; sister, Marie White of New Bern; and brother, Randy Maultsby of East Palatka, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Doris Pavelchak, Jeanette Rollins and Eloise Thomason; and brother, Charles Maultsby.
Eddie will be laid to rest at sea in a private ceremony.
