
WILMINGTON — April Olinger Johnson Henderson, 75, died Friday, Nov. 6, 2020, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice.
She was born April 2, 1945, in Wilmington to Edward Barch Edlehart Johnson Jr. and Clevie Olinger Smith.
She was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She went to New Hanover High School and received Unit Clerk Certification from Cape Fear Community College. She retired from NHRMC with over 35 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Edward W. “Corky” Johnson; and two sisters, Jannie Mix and Clevie “Betty” Russell.
She is survived by her son, Bruce Wayne Johnson Sr., and his wife, BobbiSue Johnson; three grandchildren, Kathry AprilSue Benton, Bruce Wayne Johnson Jr. and Christopher Lee Johnson; and two great-grandchildren, Kimberly Ariel Benton and Allison KanisGrace Benton.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 11, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Wilmington. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to services. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
