FAYETTEVILLE — Roseanna Foy, 99, formerly of Castle Hayne, passed away Thursday, Oct. 8, 2020.
Roseanna was born July 21, 1921, to the late Herman and Gertrude Grady in Wilmington. She married the late George Henry Foy and gave birth to four children.
She was a lifetime resident of the Rock Hill Community as well as a lifetime member of St. James AME Church, Castle Hayne. She worked many years with New Hanover County Schools. After retirement, she worked as a nurse’s aide caring for the elderly.
Her love and memories will remain in the hearts of her children, Dr. John L. Foye (Mary Ruth), Gloria Q. Jackson and Doris Carswell, all of Fayetteville; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Public viewing will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 18, at Davis Funeral Home, 901 S. 5th Ave., Wilmington. A celebration of Ms. Foy’s life will be conducted at 9 a.m., Monday, Oct. 19, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Wilmington National Cemetery.
