CALABASH — Jimmy Allison McLamb, 78, died Thursday, Sept. 17, 2020. Born Nov. 27, 1941, in Brunswick County, he was the son of the late Lennon McLamb and Myrtle Gore McLamb.
Jimmy was the owner of L.M. McLamb & Son Construction Company. He was a cofounder of Brunswick Plantation, real estate developer and member of Bethel Primitive Baptist Church. He also served in the North Carolina Army National Guard.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia Gail Hickman McLamb; son, Jimmy Lennon “Len” McLamb (Sandra) of Calabash; daughters, Alison Blackmon of Ash and Lori Skipper (Kevin) of Calabash; grandchildren, Brandy, Faith, Olivia, Jesse, Sami, Morgan and Corbin; and great-grandchildren, Noah, Brody, Raelyn and Judson.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 19, at Brunswick Funeral Service, Shallotte. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 20, at Bethel Primitive Baptist Church, Calabash, officiated by Elder Mike Gowens. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Casket bearers will be Kim Long, Cody Long, Ashley McLamb, Terry McLamb, Kenny Powell and Cory McLamb. Honorary casket bearer will be Ronnie Gore.
