Helen Carlson Ward, 94, enjoyed needlework crafts and shopping

BOLIVIA — Helen Carlson Ward, 94, peacefully passed away Friday, Sept. 11, 2020, after a brief illness.

Helen was born in Feb. 1, 1926, Milford, Connecticut, to the late Carl and Alma Martinson Carlson. She married and raised her family there. From 1971 to 2015, she resided in Cocoa, Florida, before moving to Bolivia.

Her pet poodles brought her much joy. Helen enjoyed various needlework crafts, shopping and dining out. During her early years, she worked as a telephone operator and in various industrial plants in Milford.

She was preceded in death by her spouses, Clifford Robinson and Lawrence Ward; former husband, John Frazier; daughter, Patricia Frazier; and brothers, Bert Carlson, Harry Carlson, Walter Carlson and Richard Carlson.

She is survived by daughters, Carol Robinson Erlingheuser (Frank) and Sharon Robinson Davis of Bolivia; grandchildren, Ruth Hayes of Florida, Sandra Severnak (Jim) of Texas, Heather Davis, Julie Goodloe and Richard Davis III of California and Darlene Erlingheuser-Marks (Steve), Suzanne Adinolfi, Paul Erlingheuser and Michael Erlingheuser (Samantha) of Connecticut; and 16 great grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren; and several nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 20, at White Funeral and Cremation Service, 603 Ocean Highway E., Bolivia. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Burial will be held at a later date in Florida.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Carolina Poodle Rescue.
