
WILMINGTON — Mary Rebecca “Becky” Brady, 76, went home to be with the Lord Monday, Aug. 3, 2020, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice Life Care Center, Bolivia. She was born Aug. 7, 1943, in Jacksonville, Florida, and was the daughter of the late Ossie Mae Barnette.
Becky was an amazing, Godly, devoted mother who provided a Christ-centered home and taught her daughters to do the same. She received Christ as her personal Savior in 1966 and served the Lord faithfully in her church. She taught Sunday school, loved singing in the choir, participated in women’s ministry, and mentored young women. One of her greatest joys was being a part of Mrs. Elsie Johnson’s Ladies’ Sunday School Class at Northside Church.
In addition to her parents, Becky was preceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years, Bill; and precious grandson, Curtis.
She is survived. by her daughters, Sheri Stewart (Rodney), Lynda Smith (James), Lisa Beach (Danny) and Karen Holley (Clyde); brothers, David Styron and Ray Barnette; sisters-in-law, Pat Baldwin and Joette Boswell; grandchildren, Brady, Amanda (Stephan), Blake (Ashley), Tyler, Joel (Sarah), Zachary, Allie (Skott), Wesley, Lauren and Rachel; and great-grandchildren, Heidi, Mila, Jake and Jason.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Aug. 7, at Northside Church in the Family Life Center, 2501 N. College Road. There will be social distancing and masks are optional. Interment will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Park following the service.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude and appreciation of Dr. Kenneth Kotz, the Hospice Care Center nurses and her faithful friends who ministered to her through the years.
