SUNSET BEACH — Joan Marie Friedman, 79, formerly of Forty Fort, Pennsylvania, died Sunday, March 22, 2020. Born Aug. 6, 1940, in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Jon Lesser and Victoria Masiell Lesser.
She attended West Side Central Catholic High School, graduated from Bishop High School and later studied at Misericordi University. She taught in the Lakewood, New Jersey, school system for 30-plus years.
Surviving are her husband, Martin E. Friedman; sons, Eric Friedman (Ann Marie) of Jersey City, New Jersey, Kurt Friedman (partner, Glen) of Sunset Beach, Todd Friedman (Tracy) of Point Pleasant, New Jersey, and Jon Friedman (Christine); brother, John Lesser (Carol) of Gorham, Maine; and grandchildren, Carly, Evan, Jon, Austin, Megan, Noah, Tori, Ty, Aiden and Taylor.
Due to the present health concerns, public services will be announced at a later date.
