WILMINGTON — Mary Carrican Patana, 65, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2020, in Wilmington. Mary was born July 18, 1954, to Samuel and Leona (Kelley) in Ithaca, New York. She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Gary Michael Patana; daughter, Amy Jo Thomas (Joe); son, James Patana; grandchildren, Caitlin Reid, McKayla Stiller, Joseph Thomas IV and Neveah Patana; great-grandchildren, Lilli Reid, Landon Stiller and Avery Stiller; sisters, Connie, Cathy, Brenda and Fran; brothers, Sam and Mike; as well as several extended family members and friends.
Mary was a nurse who loved taking care of people, reading her books and watching the dolphins at the beach.
A memorial service will be held from 3 to 5 p.m., Friday, Jan. 17, at Bangs Funeral Home, 209 W. Green St., Ithaca, New York. A blessing of the ashes will be done by Father Chumo at the end of the memorial service.
