HAMPSTEAD — Lois Jordan Long, 80, known to everyone as “Granny,” passed away Thursday, Dec. 26, 2019, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center, Wilmington.
Lois was born June 17, 1939, in Brunswick County, the daughter of the late Lonnie Whitfield Jordan and Elma Mintz Jordan.
Lois was preceded in death by her late husband, Robert L. “Bobby” Long Sr.; and daughter, Elizabeth Jordan Cain.
Lois is survived by two daughters, Jeanette Bullard Miller, and her husband, Randy A Miller, and Roberta Long Flynn, and her husband, Curt Flynn; son-in-law, Tommy H. Cain; four sons she helped raise as her own. Robert L. Long Jr., James Allen Long, Jerry Wayne Long and Richard Wade Long; four grandchildren, Amy Cain Hester, Tommy Cain Jr., Christopher Miller and Jennifer Miller Paullin; 10 extended grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held at 1 p.m., Monday, Dec. 30, at Andrews Mortuary & Crematory, 1617 Market St., Wilmington. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, Dec. 30, at the funeral home with Brother Ron Capps officiating. Burial was held in Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Wilmington. Pallbearers were Curt Flynn, Christopher Miller, Eric Paullin, Richard Long, Brandon Long and Bobby Moore.
