SUPPLY — Peggy Jean Baker, 81, died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2019, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center, Wilmington.
Mrs. Baker was born Aug. 9, 1938, in Rowan County, daughter of the late Andrew Jones and Rena Jones. She worked at Minuteman Food Mart in Shallotte for almost 20 years, where she enjoyed talking with many of her customers. Until her declining health, she enjoyed traveling and attended Mount Carmel Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church. Mrs. Baker was preceded in death by a grandson, Marty McDonald.
Survivors include her loving daughter, Debby McDonald, and her husband, Martin, of Supply; four grandchildren, Tiffany Johnson, Tammy Young, Michael Lake and Ryan McDonald; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, Dec. 6, at White Funeral and Cremation Service, 3660 Express Drive, Shallotte, with Pastor Gary Hewett officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. prior to services at the funeral home.
